SARLAT-LA-CANEDA

Sarlat is a beautiful example of the Renaissance and medieval era.  It was formed in the 9th Century and is built around a Benedictine Abbey.  Try to take the time to wander through the city to admire the fine homes, one of the most famous is the mansion of Ettienne La Boetie.  La Boetie was a well known Judge and founder of modern political philosophy, as well as an excellent poet.
