MARKETS NEAR LES CHOUETTES – THE FRENCH COUNTRY COTTAGE
The markets near Les Chouettes in Tremolat are a bustle of activity and a wonderful place to discover the freshest ingredients to use in any meal. You will find the most wonderful cheeses, olives, fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers. There is also a great variety of Duck products including Rillettes, delicious pates and not forgetting the delicacy – Fois Gras. There is a variety of walnut delicacies and walnut oils, Truffles (which the area is famous for), honey products and delicious wines-Bergerac wines as well as the well known locally produced Montbazillac sweet wines. You will also find fabulous clothes, shoes, handbags and tablecloths – all at affordable prices.
The markets are open from 9.00 am to 1.00pm in a different village on each day of the week.

For a few months of each year the Perigord will host two Markets:
– Market of Mushrooms
– Market of Truffles
(Both are held on a Saturday morning – from December through to February only in St Genies)
EVENING MARKETS
The evening markets are fabulous – the exact dates for these events are still to be announced.
The way it works: You pack a basket with plates, serviettes, glasses and cutlery and arrive at the village from about 6pm onwards, where the night market is being held. Tables and benches are all set out in long rows. The Producteurs de Pays will sell their products ranging from salad, Magret de Canard, Pizza, Paella, Cheese, bagettes, wine and a range of deserts etc. You are able to choose what you would like to eat and then sit at the long tables. (it is a wonderful way to meet the local people) At approximately 9pm the music will start and so will the festivities – what fun.
